Making the Most of Premise-Based Improv
In this 8 week session, students will learn to maximize premise-based improv openings (beginning scenes with a clear, pre-defined comedic idea pulled from the opening), practice efficient scene introductions, work on innovative scene-building through context and consequences, and apply these tools to a variety of premise-based improv formats. The first two classes will focus on openings and intros, weeks 3-4 will apply these lessons to The Armando format, and weeks 5-7 will spotlight The Harold format. In week 8, students will perform an improv showcase for friends and family.
